Shaping up another large Puukko this morning. While the smell of grinding bone, antler, and leather can be a bit much at times, it really turns out a beautiful product. I decided to leave some of the natural contour created by the antler on this handle. It feels great in the hand.

I’ve got to get better about these before and after pics. (Actually take them…) Yesterday this knife looked like it was recovered from a shipwreck. The owner had spilled something on it that ate the handle off and rusted the metal to Cheeto status. It was a cheap knife but an antique and sentimental nonetheless. In 16 hours I feel like I did it justice just in time for the customer to give it to her father today.

Finished this large Gyuto of my design in AEB-L. Sporting birdseye maple handles, red and black liners (reminiscent of the great RBA food truck), and secured with smelted Keewenaw copper pins. Can’t wait to eat the food this knife helps to prepare. Some of the best food around can be had @forestlakecountrystore_
